Icons

The iconic collection at Hristo Tsokev Art Gallery consists mainly of works by iconographers from the Tryavna School of Iconography who painted murals and icons for the Tryavna Region and for many settlements in the Tarnovo and Sub-Balkan regions in the XIX century. This collection includes works by the popular in the second half of the century Simeon Kovyu, Racho Tiholov and Anton Stefanov. A special place in this Revival Collection is held by an icon by the most prominent representative of the Samokov School - Zahari Zograf.
